PricewaterhouseCoopers: Orchestrating Collaborative Leadership

As part of their ongoing commitment to investing in employee professional development PricewaterhouseCoopers consulted with Maverick Minds to work with a couple of teams in the organisation. Looking for creative and innovative ways to enhance team performance PricewaterhouseCoopers could see the benefits of the arts-based approach for developing the potential of the people in the organisation.

The Orchestrating Collaborative Leadership workshop used the Rhythms of Collaboration© model designed by Cathryn Lloyd and Shari Lindblom as a starting point to explore ways to enrich the collaborative process. In this experiential workshop for managers, participants were given the opportunity to explore the concepts of leadership and collaboration by engaging with art and music.

The combination of art and music was well received. Comments from participants include:

  • The experience left us empowered, motivated and focused as a team and really provided us with a framework on which to bond, grow and succeed as a group.
  • The arts-based approach gives a new perspective to looking at situations
  • It opens your senses to what is going on around you.
  • Learned more about the team around me
  • Enables creative side to come out and felt inspired
  • Different perspectives are good
  • Allowed for freedom of collaboration
  • Allowed me to see everyone is working towards a common goal
