Queensland Police Women's Network
Cathryn Lloyd was commissioned by the Queensland Women's Police Network to design and facilitate key sessions within their learning symposium/conference. The five day offsite symposium was designed to introduce new members of the network to each other and their new roles. Cathryn worked closely with the State Co-ordinator of the network to develop an integrated creative experiential learning process to run alongside and support other sessions within the symposium. The creative processes were also stand alone sessions designed and facilitated to develop each person's understanding and capability within their individual roles as well as understanding the network as a whole.
Cathryn is continuing work with the network with another symposium in September and ongoing creative interaction with the group. For more insights into the conference please click here: Women's Network Conference
Comments include general feedback about Cathryn and the experience to more specific insights the participants learned from the creative processes:
I really enjoyed Cathryn Lloyd's facilitation - although I was quite hesitant initially in the presence of this new group, I really liked seeing how we were all situated on day one, to how we felt about the symposium coming to a close by day four.
The combination of the seminars, information sessions and guest speakers interspersed with the creative aspect from Cathryn provided a sense of fun whilst working together, learning more about the Women's Network and getting to know the wonderful and inspiring women who work with the QPS.
Enjoyed it immensely, made what could have been very dry into fun and lighthearted reflection.
Must admit that initially I did not like the thought of the creative processes and active tasks we had to complete but once we did them they were good and actually enjoyed them.
I think that normally working in the world of law this opened up and made use of a different side of the people involved. This was particularly evident in the small scenarios they were asked to present.
It was great to have the group involved and participate in non-traditional, and very "non-police" activities. I thought it was great to get myself and others thinking "outside the square".
I really enjoyed having Cathryn at the conference. It was very refreshing to put a different perspective on learning styles and how things can be reflected on better for future and current learnings.
