RCP: The Art of Communication
Communication is essential in any business. RCP a project management consultancy recognised the importance of this skill for it's project managers and planners. To provide RCP employees with a fresh perspective on the Art of Communciation Maverick Minds knew the workshop needed to be creative and interactive. The opportunity to discuss and develop effective ways of comminicating was explored through a creative process. Participants were given the time to work individually and collaboratively. Some of the comments from participants include:
- I believe the training has made my mind more aware of being a little more creative not only in discussions but problem solving as well.
- I do believe that continual training with this type of learning will only make ourselves more aware of creative thinking and application.
- The workshop provided an insight into the thought processes of some of my colleagues.
- Fabulous, great to get the creative juices flowing
- The whole experience was enjoyable but there was a quote about art & work that made sense at the time & struck a personal chord.
- Very worthwhile, mainly evoked existing but forgotten life learning's
- There should be more of it, encourage people to look into themselves for answers
- For me the ideals of art-based learning are about broadening thoughts and challenging the Brain to process information differently. In terms of how this may affect my professional life; so much of what we do is ‘ticking the boxes'. By this I mean we are simply following a recognised process for achieving an end goal. Art-based learning challenges this process by encouraging alternative thinking. Hopefully this can have a positive impact on increasing innovation in the construction industry in time.
