The Fourth Art of Management and Organization Conference 2008

September 2008 saw the The Fourth Art of Management and Organization Conference held in Banff, Alberta, Canada. The conference was held at the Banff Leadership Centre which provided a superb setting and environment to explore creativity, leadership and the field of arts-based learning.

Cathryn presented The Sphere of Professional Artistry: the art of knowing what to do when you don't know what to do. You can find it under the Research Papers section within this website now titled The Need for Artistry in Professional Education. 

Cathryn and Cheryl presented their joint paper Developing Creativity and Innovation in Management Education: an artful event for transformative learning.  The full paper is published in the 2008 December edition of the Journal of Management and Organization: Reconceiving the Artful in Management Development and Education. 

The presentation included a workshop that explored the creative process of bricolage - the construction or creation from a diverse range of things or what is available. Below are some images from the workshop.
